Eliza's 3rd Birthday

Oh my sweet Eliza. She woke up to a few presents and she was OVER THE MOON! Eliza wears her emotions on her sleeve and today was no exception! She was in heaven all day long! Girlfriend LOVES attention!

Her shirt is perfect for her... "WILD"...
Trying to do "3" with her fingers...
 Oh I love her laugh...
Stoked about her very own candy and Swimming Barbie. Eliza loves to give her Barbie's baths, so it was the perfect gift for her...
Excited about new jammies and a new church dress too...
 So happy...
 Janie green with envy...
Eliza's very favorite Disney character is Moana!...
 Hooray!
She is just so cute. She loved being sung too...

Eliza got a date with Mom and Dad too! She picked to go see "Moana" again...
With her very own drink this time...

It's my party, I can cry if I want to...

Eliza. So much to say. So little time. Eliza is my little spitfire and she is LOUD! She yells when she's happy, she screams when she's mad. She walks loudly and makes her presence known! She has more attitude than a squad of rich cheerleaders and more zest than ripe sour lemon. She's sweeter than a chocolate doughnut and smarter than any 3 year old I've ever known. She keeps me on my toes and when I'm lazy and get off my toes, I pay for it every. single. time. You can find Eliza doing any of the following things at any given moment- trying to paint her nails, running to the neighbors house to beg for Popsicle, climbing in the pantry looking for snacks, climbing on the sink playing with soap and water and toys, trying to use the plunger in the toilet, filling the bathtub full of towels and turning the water on until it overflows and starts dripping from the ceiling below, putting lotion all over herself, putting my expensive makeup all over herself, making herself a piece of toast, climbing on a bar stool to open the garage to ride her wiggle car anywhere she can get away with, coloring on the couch, walls, carpet, bedding, toilet, house, etc.... As I type this, I just heard the van horn honk. She is in the van doing who knows what. I'll be right back...

She was in the van eating an entire pack of gum that I hid in there from the kids to try to keep for myself. See what I mean?! And what am I to do? She's 3! She might sit down for 3 minutes at a time. I guess we'll see what the next mess is that I'll have to clean up after her. With Eliza, I mostly put out fires. I'm laughing out loud as I type this because she causes me so much grief and exhausts every ounce of patience I have! BUT she fills my heart with so much joy and love and pride! I'm proud to have a child that knows what she wants and does what it takes to get it! She is ambitious and relentless, unapologetic and independent. She's also very caring and tender and when she does get in trouble, she doesn't forget it. She will tell you, "Mom, you hurt my feelings." And then you somehow quickly forget that you just spent the last 2 hours shampooing the couches that she dumped a container of yogurt on and spread around because it was fun. What I really want to say is, "NO! YOU HURT MY FEELINGS!" Hahaha! But instead, she climbs up into my forgiving lap while I smell her sweet curly hair and adore and admire her beautiful soft cherub face. Liza is the first one to greet me in the morning. She'll be the first to jump into a fun family dance party and although she likes to make messes, she's pretty good about helping me clean up. She loves to run on stage during the Primary Programs and she's not even in Primary yet. She just wiggles her way right to the front and stands there and smiles and waves. She is fearless and fun and I couldn't imagine my life without the beautiful bright exciting rainbow of light that she is!

Happiest 3rd Birthday beautiful Eliza Faye!

Caleb's 7th Birthday

Caleb has been 7 for a few months now. Better late than never! He had the perfect day, if you ask me!

He woke up to the big bike he was hoping for on Christmas morning...
 Spoiled rotten...
Those teeth are gnarly! I hope he's my only child that will be getting braces at age 7...
He was so so excited about these water bottles! He was so excited that he left one on the bus the very next day...
This year, it was a a mom and dad date, but we let him invite his best friend, Ryder, over for some cake and ice cream. He wanted a chocolate cake with no frosting...
 Isn't this so cute?!?! Janie!...
I took him a McDonald's kid's meal for his school lunch...
 His little friends...
He picked Classic Fun Center for his date night with mom and dad...
At the top of something crazy...
Trying not to think about the grossest germs we were crawling through...
 Winning big!...
He went home with some fun prizes and even better memories!

Caleb is really truly such a great boy! The other day, I was talking to Mike and I just went on and on about how good Caleb is. I couldn't help but wonder where he got it from?!? Mike said he definitely didn't get it from us! Hahaha! He was born that way. We got so lucky! He's a great student and a very loyal good friend. He loves his friends fiercely and we're so lucky he has a lot of good ones in our neighborhood. He's an awesome brother and always asks Eliza, "Are you still my best buddy?" He is always concerned for other's feelings and often "feels bad" for people that are less fortunate. We're working on how to react if you don't get your way, but nobody is perfect, right?

I remember the day he was born. He had the most handsome beautiful face and soft light brown hair. The most perfect kissable lips. (he still does) He is my cleanest child and it's not hard to get him to help with anything I might need. If he were writing this about himself, he would definitely want me to say that he is an awesome athlete, coachable, hard working, great student and a natural leader. He's just one of those people that grasps concepts and things usually come pretty easy for him. I'm sure he'll find something along the way to keep him humble. I love my sweet Calby! Happy 7th, baby boy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! San Diego 2017

Happy Happy New Year! Bud and I decided to start this year off right and so we headed to sunny San Diego for 6 days with just the two of us. We haven't been alone on a vacation since our honeymoon! It was an absolute treat and I wish I could go back right now! We relaxed and relaxed some more. We did what we wanted to do when we wanted to do it. I am looking forward to so many more adventures with my all time favorite person. I wish we could make this a monthly thing. Maybe some day. We are going on 10 years of marriage this year! GO US!

Our hotel lobby took me right back to the islands of Hawaii. We were so excited!...
The bay where our hotel was. This was after a nice nap and relaxing in the hot tub. It was gorgeous...
 Wahoooooo!...
Walking down Mission Beach. At this point, we are completely and utterly GIDDY...
We sat in this same spot and watched the surfers every day. I begged Mike to take us surfing, but the water was FREEEEEEZING. It wasn't going to happen for me this time. We better go to Hawaii for our next trip...
Isn't it a cool rule that you have to pose like this if you're in California?...
 Loving that sunshine...
Lunch overlooking the beach. It was so yummy and just a dream!...

A visit to Coronado Island. Hotel Del Coronado was so fancy and I ate the biggest best cookie. We layed (is that a word?) on the beach for a couple hours and just took it all in.
Lots of trips to the hot tub. It was perfect hot tub sitting weather. If you keep the cold drinks on hand, Mike is one happy guy...
A stroll through our hotel property. We stayed at The Catamaran...
I was as cozy as I look...
Sea World was SO MUCH FUN! I want to go back ASAP!...

I couldn't stop laughing. I just wanted to look like a flamingo...
I love seeing him so relaxed...

He wasn't very excited about this meal...
But he was excited about me!...
 Sea ya later! (Get it?)
Back to the pier to people watch!...
I tried so hard to get pictures of the dolphins swimming around us, but I got this handsome guy instead...
We were so proud of ourselves for working out every day while we were there! I was giddy running around that bay! It was such a breath of fresh air. I've also been exercising like a mad woman since I had Ivy and I'm starting to get some results! The physical results are only just a bonus though. I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER! And happier. I'll never stop...
He's the best in the west...
Finally a day warm enough to throw on our suits and dip our toes in the ocean...

Fat Fish. The best Mexican food I have ever had. We ate there 2 days in a row. I begged for a third. I will go back. My mouth is watering just looking at those nachos. I love that view of that face too!...
The Baked Bear. It was decent, but over rated....
 My favorite Mexican spot...
 USS Midway...

Balboa Park. It was a bit spritzy and I felt like I should be doing yoga. (Spritzy was our word of the trip. Mike says it's not a word. I say it is and if it isn't, it should be.) This outfit was on repeat because it was colder than I thought it would be and it was the only warm clothes I brought...
 Hanging with his bird buddy...
I love this view and I love this man...
My dad snuck his way into our trip! Gosh I miss him...
Headed out to go whale watching...
The face of some really relaxed parents...
 So beautiful...
I've never tried wine before, but if wine gets better with age, he's like the finest wine in all the land...
We saw lots of dolphins, 3 humpback whales and 1 gray whale. It was AMAZING and breathtaking!
I also found this new feature on my phone that I was so excited about that blurs the background. So cool and I love my new hat!...
I was FREEZING by the end of the tour. It's a lot colder when the wind is in your hair and you're out on the open water...
And we couldn't miss out on a trip to the most beautiful temple I have ever seen. When we were looking up the address, we were reading reviews of the temple. There were some bad ones of people that were thinking it was some kind of Disney castle and disappointed to find out that it was just for the Mormons only and you had to have a pass to get in. So funny! Bud also told me about the sweetest man in the temple that told him how much he loved him and how happy he was that he was there. It really touched my heart. I'm so glad we made time for the temple...
And now it's time to go home. We didn't do anything crazy on this vacation. We just enjoyed each other. It was WONDERFUL and perfect and just what we needed! We even got bumped up to first class and enjoyed some warm cookies. Bud is perfect for me and there is nobody on this earth I would rather be with at any given moment. I can't wait for our next adventure!...
And now... BACK TO REALITY. Reality is messy, but it sure is cute!
Thank you Dody, Curt, Caitlin and Krissie for making this possible for us!
