Happy 30th to ME!

I just turned 30. It's weird to not be twenty something anymore, but I'm so excited about my 30's! I think it will be such a wonderful time in my life. My 20's were a whirlwind. They were so full of everything. So full of life, fun, craziness and love. My birthday, this year, was the best birthday I have ever had in my entire life! It started a week before my actual birthday. Someone (Amber) left a bag on my porch full of plates, silverware and napkins with a sweet note. The note said that someone was going to bring me dinner every single night in the week leading up to my birthday! I cried. Of course I cried! I cried all week because people were so overwhelmingly kind and generous to me. So, I didn't have to cook at all that week. Mike also surprised me with a delicious dinner downtown with my best friends at PF Chang. All week, gifts poured in with jewelry, make-up, pedicures, candles, treats, books, gift cards and the sweetest most thoughtful cards I have ever been given. The hand-written cards were my favorite gifts of all and I decided from now I that I will always write cards for people on their birthdays no matter what. They are so meaningful. My dad mailed me $50 big ones. I look forward to that every year! It's the best! My sisters and mom took me out to a yummy lunch and spoiled me rotten. All of this before my actual birthday! FINALLY, on my birthday, the same friends that brought me meals every day for a week, took me to lunch and provided babysitting for my kids while we went. They asked my Beehives to volunteer and give that service which meant so much. After lunch, I came home and there were people CLEANING MY HOUSE! So, yes. The same friends that brought me dinner for a week, also took me to lunch, watched my kids, spoiled me with gifts and then paid people to clean my disgusting house. I never want to leave my amazing friends in this neighborhood. They went all out for my 30th! They have taught me so much about celebrating life and people and serving others. I wish I was more like them. I also had a friend bring me an entire cake that she baked. It was one of those big beautiful ones with 5 layers. What a great gift! Kristin, Dody and Curt came by to see me and drop by a gift too. They are so good to me.

Finally, on my birthday night, Mike and I went to dinner and walked around City Creek. I was sick all week, so by the time my birthday came around, I was exhausted and pregnant. A relaxing walk around downtown is just what I wanted and needed. Alone time with Mike is the best gift I could ever be given. I cherish it so much.

Just when I thought my birthday was over, John and Julia threw me the cutest little surprise party with the Bennion crew. It totally scared me and surprised me! It was so fun! They made me the sweetest card that said 30 things they love about me. See the picture below. It made me cry. My birthday week was so emotional. I feel so much love around me. How can I ever repay all of these people?!? All I can do is try to make others feel special on their birthdays. It really means the world.
