Eliza's First Month

Well, she is 5 weeks old now! I'm finally starting to feel rested. Here is her first month in pictures...

I loved the covered hand jammies...
 All day every day...
 All day every day...
 Cutest girls...
My first walk with 4 in tow...
 He cruises on that thing...
 Jane-Jane...
Well she grew up in a hurry!...
 All day every day...
 I mean THE cutest!...
Mike went on a trip for work 2 days after we got home from the hospital. Lots of things like this happened while he was away...
 All day every day...
 Her many faces...
Janie likes to dump milk on her head at least once a week and then cries for a "showuh"...
Look at those little chicken legs!...
 Fresh and clean...
 Sweetest...
 All day every day...
 Wide awake...
 While Mike was away...
 Constantly smelling her...
I love carrying her around in my Moby wrap. She loves it more...
Don't you just want to eat her up?!?...
Claire working on her homework said, " I just can't wait until I'm in high school!" Oh geez...
 I mean, why not?...
Our first outing as a family of 6 to the new aquarium in Draper...
 3 weeks old...
 Enjoying some sunshine...
 Sleepy smile at 4:00am...
I'm so tired. SO tired. Always tired...
 Bright eyes!...

Phew! We survived our first month! Barely...

A Trip to the ER...

The hospital is no fun. Poor Eliza had been acting very fussy for a couple of days and not like herself at all. I thought that her tummy may have been hurting her and I just told myself she'd grow out of it. Finally, one day after her nap, I picked her up and she was HOT! I took her temperature and she was 102.8. I felt uneasy about it, but again thought it was fine and decided to give her a luke warm back to try and cool her down. After her bath, I thought I should call the doctor. When I called, he told me to take her straight to the emergency room at Primary Children's Hospital right away! I didn't realize it was such an emergency when infants had a fever. I've never had a sick infant before. She was only 27 days old and the last place I wanted her was at the hospital! We left at about 9:00pm. I knew I'd be there for a few hours, so I packed an overnight bag just in case. We ended up staying for 3 days. Of course we went in the night before Mike started his new job. Between his new job and finding sitters for the other kids and taking care of the other kids, he was only able to come to the hospital for about 20 minutes one night. It was a CRAZY few days! She had her fever the entire time and it just would not go away! Finally, a day after we got home, she broke her fever and she has been fine ever since. They tested her for EVERYTHING and couldn't find out what it was, so they just concluded that it was a bad virus. Poor baby. I'm so thankful she is okay and healthy now.

Here is her first of two IVs. It was the worst...
Here she is about to get a spinal tap to test for meningitis...
Look at her look at me! BREAK MY HEART!
You can tell she had been crying a lot. Her birth marks get really red when she cries...
 Poor baby...
FINALLY getting some rest after constantly being poked and prodded!
Isn't that sad? I'm so glad she is okay. It killed me to think of the babies and children that stay there for weeks and months! 3 days didn't seem so bad after all.

Eliza 3 weeks old...

I'm a bit behind, but here she is 3 weeks old. She is 5 weeks old now and we are loving her more every day. How can you not?!?! My mom bought Claire this darling gown in a little boutique in Philadelphia. I still absolutely love it and Lizy looks darling!

Janie's 2nd Birthday

I gave her this balloon and she was obsessed with it. She played with it all day long!

And she gave one to Claire and Caleb too...

 Present time...

My friend made her the most darling cake!...

She's the cutest 2 year old I've ever known!
 CHEESE!
I wonder what she wished for. Probably gum. She's obsessed with gum...
Her shy little face when we sang to her...
She is at the most fun and hilarious age! I wish I could bottle her up and keep her this age forever! Happy Birthday cutie pie!
