Sad to say goodbye...

It's never fun when summer comes to an end. We had a great one! Here are a few bits of our fun...

I was on the committee of setting up a carnival/fundraiser for our neighbor with Stage 4 brain cancer. He'll leave behind a wife and 3 young children. Fortunately, we were able to bring together thousands of people and raised almost $40,000 for the family. It was an amazing experience that I'm happy I was able to be a part of. Here's Caleb riding the mechanical bull at the carnival...

Clairey on the rock climbing wall...

Caleb with his huge muscles one summer day...

I told the kids I wanted to play "pedicure" and got myself a nice little foot and leg massage. Oh ya...

We had a little scare with Claire. We thought she may have appendicitis and ended up in the ER, but it turned out to be a really weird case of Strep. She had no sore throat and no symptoms at all except for severe abdominal pain. I'm so glad that she is okay...
Lookin good in the neighborhood... Rilee, Claire, Violet and Caleb. BFFs...
Bud and I at City Creek in Salt Lake celebrating our 6 year wedding anniversary...

Californa Pizza Kitchen, a walk downtown, ice cream, a movie and a night at the Marriot. It was perfect!...
Some other day we went to City Creek to take the kids to the Disney Store and splurged and got Caleb a cute fitted hat from Fanzz. Spoiled!...

Sleeping out on the trampoline. Caleb's first time and he made it through the night...

I hung out for a bit before I went inside to sleep close to Janie...
A day of many at the splash park...
 Salt Lake County Fair...

 Love em...

Goggles and kids are just the best!...
Bud has been working out hard the past couple of months! He's lost weight and lots of inches! SEXY!!!
I'm not sure why we're the joke of the neighborhood, but someone thought they were funny and put 7 flags in our yard for Labor Day. And it was hilarious! We also got ourselves a nice little minivan parked in the driveway. It's the best car in the world!
The Blonquists also put this sign in our yard because Bud is always talking about how great his lawn mowing skills are...
 Demolition Derby...
 One of many bike rides...
And one of many jumps on the trampoline...
Whew! That was fun! Now to get ready for fall...

SURPRISE!!!!

Actually, it wasn't quite a surprise to us. We were hoping and planning this would happen and when it did, we were thrilled! We are absolutely blessed to be adding another baby to our family. I love knowing that we are one step closer to completing our family and getting everyone here. I haven't posted much about our summer mostly because, for so long, sitting at the computer would make me so sick. Pretty much the only things that made me feel better were food and lying down. Thank goodness for Buddy. He has been so patient and helpful and I can't count how many days he would see me laying on the couch like a beached whale and he didn't say a word even when the house was in shambles and there was no food to eat. I'm so blessed to have him! Thankfully, morning sickness is starting to let up and I'm becoming a little bit more helpful around here. I'm still not 100%, but I guess I'll be back to normal here in about a year. Ha!

We are so excited for another little person to come into our lives and to add another crazy dynamic to our family. We all think that it's a boy. We'll see!

Coming March 6, 2014. I will be 14 weeks along tomorrow.

Are we crazy?!?! YES! WAY CRAZY! But it's what we love! Babies and making babies! (wink, wink)

Caleb's First Day of Preschool...

I wasn't quite ready for it. It came up really fast and it hit me hard when I dropped him off. This boy holds a very special place in my heart. It might be because he randomly tells me he loves me and compliments me even on my worst of days at least 20 times a day. That's just no exaggeration. He always asks me, "Mommy, are you proud of me?" I couldn't be more proud of this boy. He is so sweet and charming and such a gentleman. He certainly has his tantrums and moments, but they are becoming less and less and he is growing up too fast! He was so excited for his first day and he had the best time! I'm so thankful to have a son as special as him. He's about the only person that could literally melt me into a giant puddle on the floor from his sweet compliments and darling smile.

So proud to be big and wearing a backpack!...
He's finally got his thumbs up right. He used to use his pointer finger for thumbs up...
This is his posing smile. Hahaha!...
 So dang handsome!...
A little worried about what he might be thinking here...
 3!...
 I love his personality...

Walking in with his awesome backpack.. (not cute. not cool. not handsome.) Caleb prefers the word awesome...

 In his classroom...
Caleb with our neighbor, Rilee. Caleb absolutely LOVES this girl and she thinks he is okay. :) He waits for her by the door when she has to use the bathroom. He lets her pick the toy first and bawls his eyes out if she doesn't want to give him a hug goodbye. And he ALWAYS tries to kiss her on the cheek. He is the happiest in the world when he slides one in. He is going to make a girl very happy someday.
I am so proud of my little preschooler! He teaches me a lot every day.

Janie Mae at 18 months!

I could really go on and on about this little spitfire! She has more personality than her parents combined! She keeps us laughing all day long and especially keeps us busy chasing her. She climbs on everything and anything. If you come to our house, don't be surprised if you see all of our chairs and bar stools lying on the ground to prevent anymore falls or spilled food or ruined computers. She scatters toys and ripped paper all over the house all while smiling mischievously. She climbed out of her crib at 17 months! I always tell Bud how crazy she is and he agrees. She is fearless and carefree. We are fiercely in love with her and her contagious smile and personality. I hope she'll ease up on me as a teenager, but for now, I hope she never changes!

Here she is looking all sweet and innocent... :)
 The best blue eyes...
 This is her posing...
Hahahahaha... Do you feel like she's out to get you too?...
She got a cute little haircut a few weeks ago. No more mullet...
 Cheeeeeeeese...
One hand on my phone and one hand ripping her hair out. No surprise here. She wouldn't keep a bow in to save her life...
 Is she not the cutest?...

Already quite flexible. This picture is actually SO Janie. She's always sitting like this playing with her toes...
Can't hold still. Trying to do something dangerous...
 Blowing kisses...
A few random pictures from my phone...

Shocker. She climbed on a table. I'm actually fine with THIS table...
Climbed onto this table and found a green marker. She's faster than Wonder Woman!...
 I have no clue...
Janie on her first day of nursery. She completely melts my heart even when she STILL looks mischievous...
 Cutie pie...
She loved it and didn't care one bit when I left! I knew she wouldn't...
 Climbing after finding Caleb's hat...
 All personality...

I should add that although she's completely crazy and busy, she is the sweetest girl. She is so patient with me and gives me as many hugs and kisses as I want. She gets so excited when the door opens and anyone comes walking through. She loves me to hold her, but rarely demands it. She says: Mom(all day long), Dad, RRRRRR(for Claire), gugool(good girl), baba(doggy), Niya(Caitlin's dog), shoes and a lot of other gibberish. She loves books, jewelry and coloring (all over the floor, walls and couch). She is loud and can't be ignored. Her favorite foods are broccoli, cottage cheese and my famous spaghetti. I couldn't have dreamed up a girl this perfect for me! I love my darling Janie Mae!
