What can you do with that???

As some of you might know, I am FINALLY graduating this fall with a Bachelor's Degree in Community Health. I often get asked, what is that and what can you do with that? I love health and all of the different aspects of health. I love mental health, physical health, spiritual health, environmental and I love to learn about all of it. The major is really broad and does not specialize in a specific area, but covers a lot of different areas. I can do so many different things with this major.

UVU says....

"Graduates with a bachelor degree in Community Health can pursue a variety of career positions. Job titles include Health Education Specialist, Health Promotion Specialist, Health Program Evaluator, Health Services Administrators, etc. Graduates are qualified to work in governmental health agencies and in the private-sector in settings such as public health departments, health maintenance organizations, hospitals, clinics, and specialized health agencies such as the American Heart Association. An emphasis in School Health Education will prepare individuals to teach health in junior and senior high schools. The undergraduate major can additionally lead to advanced degrees in health education, hospital administration, public health administration, medicine and other health-related professions."

So, there you have it. That's what I do on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. I am a dragging student and I can't wait to be done, but I also LOVE learning about the forever changing life of health.

When I graduate, I would love not to work, but if I do, I would love to teach health to high school students. My dream would be to be involved with the implementation of a much better sex-education program for Utah schools.

I can't wait to graduate! Counting down the days.......

Way to go Jenny! I actually graduated in the same thing (originally PT and switched to that when I found out we were expecting). I haven't used it much but would like to think it might help if the need ever arises. Congrats!

Congratulations!! I'm so proud of you! Do you remember how stressed out I used to get at Snow over school work? You were alway SO laid back about it. That was possibly going to be my major too when I was going to UVU, but I stopped going to school and when I tried to go back I found out I had to test in to math classes and I tested into elementary math. I was so frustrated I gave up. I suck. But you have inspired me to try again!

Jennie I graduated in Health Promotion which is exactly the same thing just at Weber State. Everyone gets such a confused look when I tell them what my degree is in and asks me the same exact question! I would love to teach in high school as well!
You are so awesome for doing school and being a mom! I have no idea how you girls do it!

That's awesome. I know the feeling of wanting to graduate already. I just graduated in December and am so happy to finally be done as it's taken me almost 8 years to get through it. And now with two babies, I can focus some time on being a mom. I should have gone into medicine. :o) Anyways, Congrats! You're not far.

you did love that human sexuality class you took huh? haha I think you would be really good at that jenny. My parents wouldn't let me take the "sex" education class in middle school. Haha... I had to take the normal health class. But from what I heard, it would definitely beneifit from some improvements
