8 is GREAT!

Turning 8 is a big deal around here. I decided to head to the Oquirrh Mountain Temple and take some pictures of Claire in her baptism dress. I'm so glad I did. It was actually my favorite part of all of these birthday and baptism celebrations. When I started taking her pictures, I cried like a baby. Then she cried too. It was a special moment for both of us and I think she felt how much I love her and how proud I am of her. We spent an hour taking pictures and enjoying each other. These last 8 years have been a real whirlwind! They have flown by and I LOVE being Claire's mom.

My mom and I made that darling flower crown from plants and flowers in her garden. I hope Claire can carry on some of my mom's many talents...

She definitely knows how to work the camera...
 One of my favorites...
I love to see the temple...
 Outtake...
 She is so perfectly beautiful...
 Always smiling...
 Twirling...

"Always have the temple in your sights. Do nothing which will keep you from entering its doors and partaking of the sacred and eternal blessings there." -President Thomas S. Monson

I hope she always knows her self-worth...
 Angel...

Starting to get a little sick of taking pictures...

 The first of many yawns...
 And she's done...
But the lighting is just getting good. Hang in there girlfriend...
Okay, go run around...
 Do some cartwheels...

Okay, we should probably be done now...

 But wait! There's more!...

 And that's a wrap...
I love you, Claire.

Claire's Special Baptism Day

Oh it was such a beautiful day. I am so proud of her. The spirit was strong and Claire was so excited. She's been waiting forever for this day to come! She's been ready for a long time.

Her baptism was at 9:00am. So many of our family members came and spoiled her with their time and love and gifts. The program was really nice and her, Abrie, Isabella and Mary Ella sang "When I am Baptized." It was absolutely adorable! Seeing Claire dressed in white made me imagine her in the temple with me and gave me such a feeling of peace. I have a good feeling about Claire and the choices that she is making and will make. She is made of pure goodness and really carries the Spirit of Christ with her. Don't all children?

Her cute invitation...

Setting the best example to her siblings...
I tried to get a picture of just Claire, but Liza wouldn't have it...
 Ready to go...
The bond these two have is unlike any other...
She was starting to feel a little bit nervous...
All done! When she came out of the water she said to me, "That was fun and the water was warm!" She was very worried about getting it right on the first try. They both did a great job. The confirmation was so beautiful. It's always very special seeing worthy men gather in a circle to bless a child. So many people love Claire. I hope she felt that. Bud gave her a beautiful blessing and now she has the wonderful gift of having the Holy Ghost as her constant companion...
 Delicious food!...
Some cute pictures of the special girl...
So thankful for everyone that made the effort to come!...
