Happy Easter!

Easter landed on April Fool's Day this year! Score! We were thinking of ways to trick each other all day. Mike told the kids we were going to Disneyland I told them there was a golden egg with $20 in it. After a few minutes of searching for for the egg, I let them in on the secret that there was no golden egg and announced, "APRIL FOOLS!" They were NOT happy, but I could not stop laughing. It was hilarious and they totally deserve it for all the shenanigans they put me through every stinkin day! Don't worry. We made up for it with a great hunt and a wonderful Easter day! We were all happy.

 Janie raisin the roof!...

They got a dinosaur fossil brick they had to clear off to find the fossils. They loved it!...

Happy Easter! I love my family. I love my Savior and the atonement so that I can live an eternal life with my family. Hugs and kisses from my babies never ever go away!

"For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God" (Job 19:25–26).

He lives! And we will live on too! What a wonderful blessing! Happy Easter!

Easter Sunday

Janie's 6th Birthday!

You know the sibling in your family that when they know Mom is watching, they act their best? But then Mom looks away and they sneak a pinch or spit a mean word? And then when mom looks again, they bat their precious eyes and say something like, "You guys should really be kind to eachother. Jesus was always nice to everyone and we should go clean the whole entire house for Mom!" That is Janie for ya! She is hilarious! She really is as sweet as pie, but she is certainly learning how to be a sneaky little tease. She has the fake cry down like a champ and I'm starting to learn when it's genuine or not. I love that she can hold her own because being the middle child is no easy task!

Janie is my little creative imaginative child. She could shut the door and be alone in her room for hours and orchestrate the perfect little schoolhouse play date with her dolls and animals. She loves to be alone with herself and a mirror and a caboodle full of glitter and lip gloss and blush. She'll put it on and remove it and put it on and remove it and put it on again until her skin is pink and raw. Lucky for us, her darling freckles don't fade when she wipes off her makeup and her blue almond shaped eyes make you want to wrap her up in your arms and squeeze her tight! Janie is thoughtful, friendly, nurturing, flexible, laid back, flippy, sporty, frilly, fashionable, kind and so easy to be with and even easier to love! Bonus- she's a fast runner and beat all of the kids on Caleb's baseball team in a race!

We had the best time celebrating Janie's 6 years!

We had a great time at the trampoline park. Everyone is always impressed with Janie's flips and tricks!
The only picture I got of Janie there. Nice landing!...
Early morning presents in Grandpa's t-shirt jammies...
 Happy girl...
Off to get her ear's pierced!...

Starting to get a little nervous. Grandma always has her back!...
 ADORABLE!
 She picked rainbow flowers...
She cried a little after they were pierced, but what you don't see is me holding her in the van after this for about 10 minutes. She sobbed and sobbed. Not because of the pain, but because I told her it wouldn't hurt, but it really did! She felt so betrayed by me that I lied to her. Break my momma heart! I really hurt her feelings.
Nothing a burger, fries and shake can't cheer up...
And as if all of that wasn't enough, we stopped for donuts too!
I really don't spoil my kids throughout the year, so I take full advantage of birthdays and Christmas. I love love celebrating them and making them feel special! They don't have to clean, help, make their beds or even lift a finger on their birthday if they don't want. I think that's what they love the most. They ask and I say yes! What a great and fun day! Happy Happy Birthday Perfect Janie!

Eliza's 4th Birthday!

Eliza, Eliza, Eliza. I should write a song about her! It would be a number one hit just like her little personality. Or should I say BIG and rambunctious personality? When she's supposed to say no, she says yes. When she's supposed to say hi, she says bye. When she's supposed to cry, she laughs instead and when she's supposed to say yes, she says no! Mike and I play a lot of mind tricks on Eliza to get her to do what we need her to do, but she outsmarts us most of the time. Eliza does not let anyone decide for her and girlfriend has a mind of her own! Who runs the world? Eliza!

Eliza does not hold still from the moment she wakes up in the morning until the moment she falls asleep. She literally wiggles in her bed until the moment she falls asleep. I have learned that if I lay next to her for her nap, I "let" her play with my hair and it helps her to fall asleep more quickly. Win win! She loves to sit on your lap, but be prepared for the wiggles, squirming and wrestling while she "sits" there. Anyone that knows Eliza will tell you how loud she is, but she doesn't like loud music or the tv too loud either. Maybe she doesn't like the competition?

I hope I don't sound like I'm complaining because Eliza is everyone's favorite. She takes a little extra energy from me, but I wouldn't change a single thing about that perfect little girl! She has so much spunk and charm and love in that little body of hers! She tells me all day long how wonderful and beautiful I am and will not let me step foot out the door until she gets as many hugs and kisses sufficient enough for her. Walking down the hallway at church, people are fighting for Eliza's attention, but she'll only give it to you if she feels like it. And everyone loves it because if you can get some love from Eliza, it is 100% genuine.

Eliza is absolutely hilarious and SMART! She will have the life she wants and she won't ever settle for anything less. A person only 4 years old, I'd say she is one special girl! Her kind baby blue eyes, warm rosy chubby freckled cheeks and bouncy Shirley Temple ringlets are one of the many things I never want to forget about my sweet growing 4 year old little girl.

Eliza woke up to her gifts and even a cute note and dollar from Janie...

She's getting so big! And that hair is a beast to comb through in the morning...
Starting the day off right at Dunford Bakery for some doughnuts...
She loved picking them all out and putting them in the box like a big girl...

Off to get her ears pierced. She was so brave!...
And there it is! It startled her, but she didn't even shed a tear...
 Adorable...
Then she wanted to go to Scheel's for a ride on the Ferris Wheel...
She loved the alone time with Mom and Dad...
 Happiest day, sweetheart...
She was spoiled at Grandma and Grandpa Bennion's house too, but was a little embarrassed when we were singing to her. It was adorable...

Eliza and I read a book together before every nap. My favorite one that we read is a book called, "I Like Myself" by Karen Beaumont. It says,

I like myself! I'm glad I'm me.
There's no one else I'd rather be.
I like my eyes, my ears, my nose.
I like my fingers and my toes.
I like me wild. I like me tame.
I like me different and the same.
I like me fast. I like me slow.
I like me everywhere I go.
I like me on the inside, too,
for all I think and say and do.
Inside, outside, upside down,
from head to toe and all around,
I like it all! It all is me!
And me is all I want to be.
And I don't care in any way
what someone else my think or say.
I may be called a silly nut
or crazy cuckoo bird-so what?
I'm having too much fun, you see,
for anything to bother me!
Even when I look a mess,
I still don't like me any less,
'cause nothing in this world, you know,
can change what's deep inside, and so....
No matter if they stop and stare,
no person
ever
anywhere
can make me feel that what they see
is all there really is to me.
I'd still like me with fleas or warts,
or with a silly snout that snorts,
or knobby knees or hippos hips
or purple polka-dotted lips,
or beaver breath or stinky toes
or horns protruding from my nose,
or--yikes--with spikes all down my spine,
or hair that's like a porcupine.
I still would be the same, you see...
I like myself because I'm ME!

This is the perfect book for Eliza! She likes who she is and she has no problem being herself! I hope she carries that gift with her throughout her entire life and for every birthday. Happy 4th Birthday, Beautiful!
